Looking for some green beer in Langley this weekend?
By Brad Richert March 15, 2019

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the deeply religious, Catholic people of Ireland were granted leniency from the dietary and drinking restriction during lent every March 17th to celebrate the Feast of Saint Patrick. While the observation of lent may not be so popular these days, the tradition of drinking on Saint Patrick’s Day certainly still is.

While we may only have a handful of Irish pubs in the Fraser Valley, many of our favourite watering holes will turn a little greener this weekend. If you’re looking for some green beer and Irish dancin’ this weekend, check out our list below and please drink responsibly!

Dublin Crossing Irish Pub (Clayton/Surrey)

Technically not Langley, but it’s probably one of the hottest places to be east of Vancouver. Doors open at 9:00am and there will be live music all day. Irish dancing, bagpipes, and, of course, green beer – this will be the closest place to Ireland you’ll get in the Fraser Valley! In fact, you can even WIN a trip to Ireland!

Fort Pub & Grill (Fort Langley)

Specials on Alexander Keith’s, Guinness and Pickleback shots! Music by D.J. Tara & loads of prizes!

Brown’s Social House (Willowbrook)

My own personal spot, Brown’s Social House will be featuring a special on their Social Lager + Jameson shot for $10 and their “Irish Mule”.

The Artful Dodger (Brookswood)

South Langley’s Artful Dodger will probably be the biggest party in Langley, with live music, Irish trivia, Magician Rick & prizes!

Deadfrog Brewery

Another classic choice – for a more unique experience, Deadfrog has their brewmeister crafting some serious green brew.

“Our Brewmaster Cole has crafted some all-natural green beer to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with! This green brew is made with our Steel Toe Lager and all-natural chlorophyll!

Chlorophyll helps make plants and veggies green, and it’ll be making our Steel Toe Lager green for St. Patrick’s Day! The same crisp taste of our premium craft lager, with some extra Irish cheer!”

Townhall Langley (Willowbrook)

More of a late night scene, with the real party getting started after 9pm. Townhall Langley will be featuring DJ JSTR J & $4 CiROC. This one will be packed, so get here early!

Oak + Thorne (Walnut Grove)

While typically a late night destination, the Oak + Thorne will be celebrating Saint Patrick’s day all day, starting from their $5 breakfast ’til 3pm and going all day and night with green beer. Don’t forget happy hour is between 3-6pm & you can win their “Pot of Gold” door prize!

Are we missing your favourite spot for Saint Patty’s day? Comment below or on our Facebook post and we’ll do our best to add it!
