Langley Events for September 2019!

September means its back to school, but it’s also a month with a whole lot going on! Below is a comprehensive list of events in Langley (City and Township) that are worth checking out. If we missed an event, let us know and we’ll update it ASAP!

MUSIC

August 30-September 1 – Summerset Music & Arts Festival

The inaugural Summerset Music & Arts Festival takes place at the picturesque Fort Langley National Historic Site. Inspired by Trading Post’s passion to bring people together, Red Door Events is pleased to present a multi-day, multi-genre experience from August 30 – September 1, 2019. The festival will feature both world-renowned and locally lauded artists, engaging activities, inspiring art installations, food, drink, and warmth of community.

September 2 – Torchlight Festival 

Come together and experience a one-of-a-kind Christian worship festival held at the picturesque Fort Langley National Historic Site. Join other believers and churches from around the Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver area as we encounter God in the birthplace of British Columbia and light the way for what is to come. Red Door Events and Trinity Western University are thrilled to present the inaugural Torchlight Festival on September 2, 2019.

September 7 – Langley Country Fair

Annual super-duper Langley Country Fair! Rain or Shine! Two sets with the motley Ginalina band!

SEPTEMBER 7-8 – Langley Good Times Cruise-In & Car Corral

Do you like cars? Any type of car? Everything from brand new to ancient, to supped up to bizarre will be on display at the Langley Cruise In. The Langley Good Times Cruise In started in 1997 with a small group of merchants and business people from the City of Langley. The event has grown from 430 vehicles when it started to more than 1500 now! The “Cruise – In” has become one of the largest mixed car shows in Canada and one of the Top 10 in North America according to Dennis Gage of My Classic Car.

SEPTEMBER 20-22 – West Fine Art Show

Featuring 19 of some of Western Canada’s finest artists, the West Fine Art Show ~ Remembering is a unique partnership with the Langley Hospice Society. Hosted by the Glass House Estate Winery, the show creates some fabulous opportunities to view some amazing works of art and interact with the artists who are onsite throughout the weekend.
Sip delicious wine while you enjoy the outstanding art in a stunning winery setting, it doesn’t get much better!

September 21 – Porchfest Fort Langley

Porchfest Fort Langley is a FREE community-based arts festival that allows local artists to entertain and express on volunteered porches and businesses around the neighborhood. Multiple acts go on simultaneously on porches and in shops throughout the local community.

SEPTEMBER 22 – Langley BC Rivers Day Community Festival

BC Rivers Day is entertaining and educational! All the participants conduct engaging activities and offer fun, informative activities and booths that focus on local environmental issues.

Featuring a live entertainment by the Genuine Jug Band, Tony Prophet, and The Well Worn Trail. FREE organic hotdog BBQ, interactive displays and activity booths including the wetland dome, costume parade, wildlife displays, bird feeder building, gold panning, climbing wall and so much more! Tons of family fun- don’t miss it! Ride your bike and receive valet parking! Free admission, no registration required.

SEPTEMBER 27-29 – Belle Voci A Capella Festival

MASTERCLASS & CONCERTS with Joel Tranquilla, Christopher Suen and Paula DeWit WITH TWO SPECIAL CLINICIANS, CHRISTOPHER SUEN AND JOEL TRANQUILLA

FOODIES

September 7 – Long Table Dinner

Our final long table dinner of the year will really be something special. Chef Adrian is planning a seafood menu…

We will be crafting a complimentary cider and entertainment will be provided by Jessica Barbour – an amazingly talented singer songwriter. Join us for the last chance to party in the tent!

September 14 – Mayor’s Charitable Gala

We invite you to attend our 2nd annual Mayor’s Charitable Gala.

The evening will include a gourmet plated dinner, special musical guests, entertainment and the popular “Fire Truck of Wine”. Money raised will go to the new 15 bed Langley Hospice Residence & other Langley charities.

September 28 – Vegan Market Fort Langley

40+ All vegan vendors offering the best locally made vegan products in Vancouver and BC. Artisan market so vendors are make, bake, grow.
Free admission
This event is a fundraising event supporting the Fort Langley Elementary school Breakfast Program, cash donations will be accepted for the breakfast program.

September 28 – Food Truck Festival at Ralph’s

Kick off the Fall season with us this September at our first ever Food Truck Festival at our market! On September 28th 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. we will have 8 local food trucks here on location at our market accompanied by live music and local artisans to visit and shop with!
Some of the confirmed trucks so far are Betty’s Greek Honey Balls, Slavic Rolls, G’s Donairs Street Dogs Next Gen Concessions. Stay tuned for more announcements about this fun filled foodie day!

WALK/RUNS

September 14 – Greater Vancouver Zoo Turtle Dash 5K & 1K

On Saturday, September 14, 2019, bring your family and friends to the Greater Vancouver Zoo for the Inaugural Turtle Dash, a day to run for wildlife conservation. With a 5k & 1k run, get your feet moving and cheer on others racing through the zoo.

September 15 – Terry Fox Run (Langley City)

Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash welcome.
Route distance: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km.

September 22 – Campbell Valley Wine Run/Walk

The 7th Annual Campbell Valley Wine Run will be bigger and better than ever for 2019! We have the traditional 15 km run route, as well as the 5 km walk route, but this year we are adding an 11 km run/walk route for those in-betweeners out there! NEW THIS YEAR: All participating Campbell Valley Wine Route wineries will be available for tastings and wine purchases along each of the 3 different routes!

September 8 – Kamloops Blazers at Vancouver Giants Preseason

September 27 – Portland Winterhawks at Vancouver Giants Home Opener

September 29 – Kelowna Rockets at Vancouver Giants

 

September 19-28 – World Indoor Lacrosse Championships

When Team Canada hits the floor for the 2019 WILC World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, they will do so with some lofty standards to live up to.

The Championship has been held every four years since its inception in 2003. And all four times, Team Canada has won the gold medal. A victory in 2019 – which will be hosted by Langley Events Centre from Sept. 19 to 28 – would make it five-for-five for the Canadian side.

september 5 – (Super)Women in Business

Su-per – excellent, outstanding, marvelous, magnificent, glorious.Darci Lang is an engaging, entertaining, and powerful speaker whose message about ‘Focusing on the 90%’ is clear and sobering. Join us for an afternoon of networking, wine, lunch, laughs, swag bags and to hear our speaker’s insightful presentation.

September 7 – Fort Langley Makers Market

This is our special Fort Langley Makers Market, right in the heart of town at the beautiful community hall.

Find 22 vendors outside & 28 vendors inside finding a variety of handmade & small shops

September 13 – Movies in the Park: Avengers Endgame

Bring your chairs or a blanket, play some games, and meet new friends – because the City of Langley Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department presents a FREE community outdoor screening of the ultimate superhero movie, AVENGERS: ENDGAME at Douglas Park (20550 Douglas Crescent) on Friday, September 13. The movie begins after 7:45pm, but arrive early for best seating. Bring your own snacks or buy food at the concession.

September 30 – Federal Election All Candidates Meeting for Cloverdale-Langley City

The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host our 2019 Federal Election All Candidates Meeting for the Riding of Cloverdale – Langley City, in partnership with the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and sponsored by the Port of Vancouver. The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be able to host this event for our members and the community at large to have the opportunity to be informed voters in the upcoming Federal Election.

October 1 – Federal Election All Candidates Meeting for Aldergrove-Langley
